What is Carbon-Offsetting?

Clearly, plans to reduce the harmful greenhouse gases themselves must happen, however we cannot deal with emissions entirely that way. Whilst the technology is advancing rapidly it’s possible that it will not be part of our daily lives for decades. So, in the meantime off-setting the carbon we are responsible for is a great beginning. This involves businesses investing in projects that are cleaning our atmosphere and so compensating for the emissions they haven’t been able to eliminate yet. HIPPO will purchase carbon credit certificates to balance our existing output and guarantee a carbon neutral position

Reduction schemes that cut emission directly by employing new and innovative methods and processes. These could include green energy initiatives like windfarms, tidal or the installation of solar cooking stoves. HIPPO’s investment in windfarms in Thailand generating clean electricity through the utilisation of wind power is the perfect example of carbon avoidance in action!
