Step It Up this Recycle Week
A celebration of Recycling! Recycle Week is the nation's largest annual recycling campaign, coordinated by Recycle Now.
For 17 years, Recycle Week has been the one week when retailers, brands, waste management businesses, trade groups, governments and the media come together to achieve a single goal: to inspire the public to recycle more of the right items, more frequently.
This year's campaign focuses on the wider issue of the climate crisis and what we can do to step up our efforts to reduce the impact we have with something as simple as recycling.

We need people to look at what they are putting in their bins and ensure they’re the right things. It all adds up. The UK’s current recycling saves 18 million tonnes of CO2 every year, which is the same as taking 12 million cars off the road.

While there have been numerous events over the past 15 months over which we have had little control, the climate crisis is something we can actively work to address. Every single one of us, every day. Most of us already do, thanks to simple but effective habits (like recycling!).

RESPONSIBLE AND RELIABLE WASTE DISPOSAL AND RECYCLING FROM HIPPO
The Environment Agency recognises HIPPO as a registered waste carrier and all of the waste we collect is taken to and sorted at one of over 250 accredited waste transfer stations nationwide which have been personally audited by us and share our commitment to recycling – so we know your waste is being recycled responsibly.
Over 95% of all waste we take to waste transfer stations is diverted from landfill.

Meticulous about maintaining our own environmental credentials, our Quality and Environmental Management System is certified to both ISO14001 and ISO9001.
We maintain a fuel-efficient fleet of vehicles, reduce consumption of energy and materials and recycle as much as possible of our own waste.
Continuous improvement is something we strive for, and whilst we continue to maximise our recycling efforts, it's important to first look at where we can reduce the need for materials (especially single use). By promoting the development of technology we've been able to reduce reliance on paper products - examples include the development of an app to eradicate driver paperwork, and a paperless invoicing system.
Most of us are stepping it up to take climate change down, and recycling is one of the easiest ways to do it. Take action – recycle more.
